Feel too tight… I am a true size 8 but have a wide foot. Lately I’ve been buying 8.5’s in other shoes for the extra width space. So, after reading a suggestion about going “up” a size for the half sizes in Dansko’s, I bought a size 39 (women’s size 9). I was extremely disappointed to find that they feel really tight to me. The length is good, but the part that goes across the top is really tight. They also feel narrow to me. I am a server and my boss wants us all to wear Dansko’s. I wish they fit better. Otherwise I think I’d like them a lot.
Leave out the orthotics - I bought this first pair of Dansko closed backs several months ago after more than a year of largely unsuccessful treatment with orthotics for heel spur pain. The shoes felt great the minute I put them on and from that point forward my feet started to feel better. The support is so good that I don’t use my orthotics in them. My foot is wide in front with both a high in-step and high arch and these are my favorite shoes. I have since bought Dansko sandals and 3 more pairs of shoes. Although expensive it is much cheaper than going to the podiatrist every 2-3 weeks. I now save my orthotics to wear in my running shoes!
I’ve never spent as much on shoes. When I first got them out of the box, I was a little disappointed in their appearance. They are very boxy and functional-looking. They also felt tight across the top of my feet and left my feet sore on top the first few times I wore them. After that though, the leather stretched a little bit to fit my feet perfectly, and they are now my favorite shoes. They are so well balanced and supportive, my Danskos are the only shoes I can wear to work where I’m on my feet all day, and not leave my feet sore at the end of the day. I even feel like I have an extra spring in my step when I’m wearing my Danskos. I’ve been wearing them frequently for about a year, and they aren’t showing any signs of wear at all. All in all, I’m so glad I splurged on these. I know I’ll be getting a lot of use out of them in coming years, BCBG Iarban Sandals. Treat yourself to a pair of really supportive, well-made shoes. You’ll be glad you did.
Feels true in the toe box, but is bigger in the heel and overall wider than I need. I normally wear a 9-1/2 to 10 and the 41’s were close, but not perfect. The inner support rubbed on my arch for the first 3 days, but that seems to have disappeared. Overall, I’d give this shoe a 4-1/2 because of its looks (I got the blueberry oiled, and the blue is very dark so it could go with black clothes) and comfort, which is now starting to become apparent after the first week. I’m on my feet 50+ hours a week as a full time clinical instructor and a part time ICU nurse, so they’re getting a workout. Will be buying another pair.
I have problems with my feet–they’re wide and I have bunions. Many of the shoes that are available just don’t seem to have enough room to let a foot spread as it wants to when standing or walking; consequently, I’ve had to deal with a lot of foot pain. While I’ve found some shoes that do have “spreading room,” they haven’t addressed my other issue: at work I’m on my feet all day, and that alone can cause my feet to feel sore and fatigued. These Dansko shoes let my feet spread and somehow make them not notice when I have to stand all day. When I go home, I don’t feel I immediately have to take off my shoes. Nor do I have to deal with throbbing feet. With all the foot pain I’d previously experienced, I was willing to spend a lot of money for “comfortable shoes.” My Finn-Comforts and Mephistos can’t hold a candle to Danskos! Now the only reason I’m spending a lot of money is that I want to buy more Danskos!
Iarban Shoes are the most comfortable shoes I own. I’ve worn these before -but had to replace my old pair because the dogs ate them so I knew what size to order. I usually wear a 6 1/2 in a closed back shoe so I ordered a 37. I have to wear “professional” shoes to work, unfortunately, Danskos are a little too clunky to look good with a suit. But as soon as I get home, the heels come off and I slip into them.
BCBG Iarban Sandals are most comfortable shoes ever - I’ve been looking at these shoes for years in various catalogs but was unwilling to spend the money. After ruining my (formerly) favorite shoes in a muddy horse pasture, I bit the bullet and bought them. I ordered them on Sunday and received them on Tuesday and fell in love at the first wearing. They are so comfortable, easy to walk in and look great. The oiled leather is good-looking and practical. It was money well spent and I’m sorry I didn’t do it sooner.
I had previously purchased a pair of Danskos through a local retailer. Then I wanted another pair on a Sunday and some friends had told me about your Website. I found the price to be great; we have a high local sales tax, which you don’t charge and the free shipping clinched it. I never expected to get them the next day, so was thrilled. I will be a return customer.
I have looked at these shoes for years but never thought they looked comfortable. I am on my feet most of the day and needed something to stand in. To put it short and sweet, I have barely taken these off since I bought them. Wonderful shoe. I would like another pair in a different color. Thanks Again!
I have two pair and hardly wear anything else! No more aches and pains from being on my feet. My two pairs are different sizes and both feel amazingly good, but I am between sizes according to Zappos’ size charts. I no longer dread being on my feet for very long now. I am a 50+ woman and am glad that Zappos now carries them! Words of caution: Take them off before going through metal detectors! Also, I wear a medium width but my daughter who wears narrows cannot wear them. I continue to recommend this brand and I cannot sing the praises of Dansko enough!
Hooked for life. Now that I am turned on to Danskos, I’ll never go back to uncomfortable shoes. I have been wearing clogs for 30 years, and none of the others compare to Dansko. My lower back pain has been greatly reduced.
Great to wear when on your feet all day. I am in a profession that tennis shoes are always worn, but sometimes they do not look the best with khakis, etc. Dansko makes a shoe that feels almost as good as tennis shoes. It’s very comfortable and of excellent quality. They’re worth the money and more comfortable than Doc Martens.
